Major Renovations and New Proprietor for QM Riding School
06 August 2019
This summer the Riding School at Queen Margaret’s is undergoing some major renovations ahead of us welcoming new proprietor, Claire Rowland, in September.

The 25 stables at the Riding School are being fitted with brand new roofing and new post and rail fencing now lines the QM drive, ensuring that the Riding School’s four-legged residents have every reason to be very comfortable in their home in the School grounds.

Claire will bring with her a wealth of equestrian experience. She has ridden for over 30 years and having achieved her degree in Equine Science and Business Management at Bishop Burton College, she went on to gain her UK Coaching Certificate Level 2 through British Showjumping, ensuring she is expertly qualified to teach the QM girls. Claire has taught in riding schools and on a freelance basis since 2001 as well as holding positions on racing yards and at a dressage stud. She is currently working towards her UK Coaching Certificate Level 3.

The renovations and Claire’s arrival will give QM girls a wonderful opportunity to expand their equestrian knowledge, whatever their current level. Those who own their own horses can benefit from bespoke livery packages in order to have their rides with them at School. Claire will offer tuition for girls on their own horses and, for those without their own horses, she will have a selection available purely for QM girls to have lessons on.

Claire is excited to expand the Riding School offering further. She plans for visiting instructors to run clinics and masterclasses at the Riding School, would like to introduce some small showjumping and dressage competitions for the QM girls and is also planning some stable management sessions so that all girls, from the most novice to the most seasoned riders, can benefit from having such a wonderful facility on their doorstep.
